Paul Dankers has been the Music Director for Aspen Choral Society since the untimely death of its founder, Ray Adams, in 2013. Paul grew up in Northern Wisconsin, receiving his Bachelors Degree in Music Education from UW – Eau Claire. While teaching Vocal Music in the Public Schools at Lomira, WI, Paul completed his Masters Degree in Music Education from the University of Southern Mississippi. In 2004, he moved to Aspen, CO to teach vocal music as well as theory and composition for Aspen Public Schools. In 2006, Paul accepted a full-time position as Music & IT Director for Snowmass Chapel.

EMMA LEAKEChoir Manager
I am Emma Leake, the Choral Manager of Aspen Choral Society. I have been living and singing professionally in the Roaring Fork Valley for the past five years. I currently teach K-5 music at Glenwood Springs Elementary School. I also direct the Glenwood Springs Elementary School chapter of Aspen Music Festival and School’s Maroon Bel Canto Children’s Choir and teach private piano and guitar lessons. My passion is teaching and helping those of all ages to find and explore their voices through music.
I feel very lucky to be choir manager for Aspen Choral Society. Working with and serving the wonderful people and community that make up our ensemble is a joy!
TAMELA KENNINGACS President
Tamela Kenning is a singer/actor and recording artist with a 25-year career in music education. Tammy (Tamela) is Kodaly certified and has studied most recently at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, Kodaly Institute Kecskemet, Hungary, and in Urbino Italy. She has taught for the last 25 years and is currently living and teaching in the Glenwood Springs area. She has a Master’s degree in Music Education with an emphasis in the Kodaly Concept.
Tammy has directed choirs and sung in musicals and operas for the last 30 years, ranging from My Fair Lady to Candide, all part of the continuing cycle of acting and learning.
