Solo Auditions for the ACS 2017 season of Handel’s “Messiah” will be held at Paul Danker’s place in Basalt on Thursday, October 26th. Please contact Paul Dankers at paul@aspenchoralsociety.org in order to schedule an audition time slot. Kevin Kaukl will be the accompanist for the auditions. Kevin is offering his services to help you prepare your audition for a fee. His e-mail address is kevinkaukl@gmail.com. Soloists should prepare the following selections:
Soprano: “Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion”
Alto: “O thou that tellest good tidings to Zion”
Tenor: “Ev’ry valley shall be exalted”
Bass: “But who may abide the day of His coming”
Please note that preference will be given to soloists who are also available to attend 80% of the scheduled choir rehearsals and sing with the choir. Please check your schedule to confirm your availability regarding our rehearsal, dress rehearsal, and performance schedule.
ACS hopes to engage 2 soloists per voice part and divide the 4 concerts between them. Each soloist will do ALL of the solo repertoire for their voice part at each of the 2 concerts to which they are assigned. ACS Performs all of the music from Part 1 of “Messiah” plus the “Hallelujah” and “Worthy Is The Lamb/Amen” choruses.
